Positive Influence Team (PIT) Selected to Conduct Training Workshop at the National Mentoring Summit in Washington, DC

PIT teaches fun and functional group mentoring techniques the non-profit organization developed for its program to help reduce youth bullying and gun violence.

Positive Influence Team (PIT) announces its participation in a training workshop at the National Mentoring Summit in Washington, D.C. The workshop is called “Fun and Functional Group Mentoring Techniques” and will help participants learn techniques, such as: Mapping the Circle of Influence, The Peer Panel, the Power of Visual and Auditory Capturing of the Group Story, along with other practical tools for group mentoring sessions. The workshop will be held on Friday, January 30 at 9:45 am.

“We are honored to be selected to teach our techniques for successful group mentoring at the National Mentoring Summit,” says Stan Ross, Executive Director of Positive Influence Team.

The National Mentoring Summit is held from January 28-30, at the Renaissance Washington, DC, Downtown. This event, run by MENTOR, is the only national forum that brings together practitioners, researchers, corporate partners, government and civic leaders, national youth-serving organizations to explore and advance mentoring’s positive impact on youth and communities.

Positive Influence Team (PIT) is a Cincinnati-based, non-profit organization founded by Stan Ross and Rosie Merkt to educate, coach and mentor youth and young adults on ways to prevent bullying and violence through methods that result in positive transformation of their lives, attitudes and actions. PIT’s program outcomes include: improved academic performance, and increased emotional, social and conflict-resolution skills.

“We have developed and refined our group training, coaching and mentoring techniques over the last 25 years through our work with youth and young adults via schools, organizations, jails, task forces, and court systems,” adds Ross.
